All Town OS source code lives on Gitea. GitHub mirrors exist at github.com/town-os but are often out of date.

Town OS

The core product. Follow the stable branch for release-level changes. File issues if you see anything.

Rolodex

DNS server that manages authoritative zones for your packages and forwards upstream queries. Designed as the networking backbone for Town OS. DNSSEC, ad blocking, and DHCP are planned.

Install

The USB drive image builder. Produces a bootable image with squashfs root, GPT partitioning, and GRUB for both UEFI and BIOS. Supports QEMU and VirtualBox for testing.

Default Packages

The default package repository included on every Town OS installation. Contains packages for Gitea, Jitsi Meet, Mattermost, Plex, PostgreSQL, and more. BSD-3-Clause licensed.

ttyforce

Rust-based TUI installer and getty replacement for Town OS. Handles interactive network configuration, disk provisioning with automatic RAID, SSH key import from GitHub, and displays live system status after boot.
